Coppersteel and Alumosteel- Cables and Wire
In Conduground, we offer a range of cables and the highest Quality bimetallic wires, through a metallurgical process known as “Cladding”, achieving the union of Copper and Steel, making it practically inseparable.
Cable and Wire
Steel-Copper: as an alternative of copper cable, Coppersteel combines steel’s high strength with copper’s conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Copper Clad Steel Cable (CCS)
Copper clad steel cable in compliance with CFE E0000-33. Norm ASTM B228.
Percentages of conductivity are: 21%, 30%, 40% or 53% (IACS), depending on the thickness of the copper layer, which provides high corrosion resistance and ensures a long product life. It is more malleable and less expensive than copper and has the strength of steel.
Copper Clad Steel Wire (CCS)
Copper clad steel wire in compliance with CFE E0000-33. Norm ASTM B227.
Its composition consists of a steel core coated with a layer of copper, depending on the thickness of this layer, the Coppersteel wire presents a conductivity of 21%, 30%, 40% or 53% IACS.
Bimetallic wire can be used in ground systems, as a ground counterpoise in transmission lines and as wire conductor in lightning rods systems etc.
These cables and wires offer excellent benefits as shown below:
- It is impossible to separate copper from steel, due to its metallurgical process.
- The copper clad steel wire is 65% stronger than annealed copper.
- It is stronger and harder to cut than solid copper, thanks to the strength of steel.
- With no scrap value in the black market.
- The Coppersteel wire conductors have a wide range of use.
- CopperSteel Wires and cables are compatible with grounding systems built by copper wires.
- The copper clad thickness of at least 6% of the total radius ensures complete immunity to corrosion of steel conductor.
- The perfect coupling of copper allows the conductor to only have a coefficient of linear expansion and be able to operate with a temperature control up to 125 ° C.
Cable and Wire
Steel-Aluminum: combining aluminum’s lightness, flexibility and conductivity, with the Copper’s high conductivity and its corrosion resistance.
Aluminum Clad Steel Cable (ACS)
Aluminum Clad Steel Cable in compliance with CFE A0000-01
Alumosteel cable is a compound of Alumosteel wires, with better performance than other conductors. The Alumosteel conductors come in two different numbers of wires; 3 and 7. It comes in five IACS of conductivity as well; 20.3%, 30%, 40%, 47% and 53% depending on its aluminum clad.
Aluminum Clad Steel Wire (ACS)
Aluminum clad steel wire in compliance with CFE A0000-01
The Alumosteel is made of cold drawn steel clad with pure aluminum through a metallurgical process. It can be found in 20, 3%, 30%, 40%, 47% and 53% IACS of conductivity .
Cables and wires benefits:
- It is impossible to separate Aluminum from steel, because of its metallurgical process
- Because of Steel’s strength, Alumosteel is stronger and harder to cut than solid copper.
- With no scrap value in the black market.
- Compared with steel cable, it has same strength with better conductivity and durability
- With an aluminum cover layer of 25% of the cross sectional area of the cable.
